Value Yourself Woman: You Are Somebody! Print

Are you a woman who’s living her life feeling worthless and invisible?

Are you battling feelings of low self-esteem and insignificance?

If you are, let’s get one thing straight…

You matter—you are significant. You are somebody!

Take a minute to let that sink in…

1. Value yourself…period!

Regardless of your skin color, income bracket, country of origin, past or present history, age, physical appearance or personal circumstances —don’t look down upon yourself. Be proud of who you are! Stand tall and love yourself. Make a decision to feel worthy and deserving of goodness flowing through you and to you. Expect a good life and demand it for yourself. You don’t need anyone’s stamp of approval to feel good about yourself. So, don’t be afraid. You are a unique and special woman with an important contribution to make to the world.

2. The power to change your life is in your hands.

Each new day presents an opportunity for you to create a better life and achieve your hearts desires. What one thing do you do daily to feel good about yourself? What actions do you take to change your life for the better? Today you have a fresh chance to take care of your physical, emotional, financial and spiritual needs. It’s your chance to feel good about yourself, start exercising, get rid of toxic relationships, surround yourself with supportive people, take one more step towards your goals and so forth. What will you do with this opportunity and how will you use your personal power to change your life?

3. Get a reality check!

Be grateful for what you have. This sounds simple but it’s a statement that can’t be taken lightly because it puts your life in perspective. There are people in worse circumstances, who would die to have the opportunities you take for granted. Everyone suffers, some more than others. Some people can’t see, hear, walk, or even talk—so, if you’re better off, be thankful, appreciate yourself and start living the life you were meant to live. When you find yourself complaining and whining about how miserable your life is; simply turn on the tv or read the news—you will really appreciate your life! Think about those who don’t have the things you have and use that as inspiration to appreciate yourself!

4. Achieve something!

Nothing boosts your self esteem faster than a well deserved achievement. The knowledge that you have a plan for your life and that you are working to achieve something meaningful is the easiest way to feel good about yourself and about your life. Don’t allow obstacles, personal insecurities and a “victim” mentality to rob you of the pleasure of achieving your goals. The saying goes, “If you don't have a plan for yourself, you'll be a part of someone else's.” Ask yourself: “what one thing can I do today, this week, this month to make my life better?”

5. Don’t let your courageous spirit die.

Examine your life for a moment and consider all the tough situations you have gone through… You are here today, reading this article and that proves that you are a survivor! Nothing can change that fact. So, when you are battling feelings of low self esteem, worthlessness and insignificance, make a declaration that states” This too shall pass because I will do everything in my power—just like I have always done, to ensure that I overcome!” Even if you don’t feel like it, remember that underneath it all…you are a strong, courageous, intelligent, woman.

You are somebody!

I cried when I read this because i struggle so much with the feeling that I have been insignificant my whole life, I try to believe in myself but its very hard to value yourself when the important people like your family, who should have loved and valued you, did not.
